Bishop Oscar Cantú echoes this call for our parishes, schools, and the faithful of the Diocese of San José to heed Pope Francis' call for a day of prayer and fasting. Pastors are encouraged to call parishioners to prayer in a special Holy Hour either this weekend or on October 7, the Feast of the Holy Rosary.
The "True Presence of JESUS!"
We might all remember that in 2022, we participated to provide input to the synod conducted at all parishes within the Diocese of San Jose. As a result of this synod, six areas were prioritized to be in the Diocese Pastoral Plan, and one of them was Formation. Now our parish was selected to implement the“Parents and Families at the Center of Our Faith” program, which is a part of the Formation.

St. Pope John Paul II said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation, and so goes the whole world in which we live.” We understand the vital role that families play in our spiritual lives. These days, manyof our families face spiritual challenges due to the influence of secular culture and the busyness of modern life. We would like to invite you to join the Catholic Family Survey that will help our parish understand your family life as a parent, grand parent or a family member.
The survey results are very important because your answers will help our parish devise our spiritual plan. This plan is to support parents, children, grandparents, and young adults engaging in faith formation. Our goal is to make Christ the center of every family’s life. The survey will take only 8 to 10 minutes to complete. It is intended for all of us. You can use either the QR Code or access the link below. We appreciate your time and contribution!

Pope Francis has asked for Catholics to observe October 7th as a day of prayer and fasting for peace, emphasizing the Christian responsibility to serve humanity in times of war and violence. The Pope has invited synod members to join him on October 6th at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major to offer prayers to the Virgin Mary for peace. The link above will also connect you with a letter from Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, similarly asking clergy and lay faithful of his diocese to mark the anniversary of the attacks on Israel with prayer, fasting, and penance.
